Archive Description | Oral History - Willie Ann Frels McColloch Ms. McColloch was born in 1929 in Glen Flora, a small town in Wharton County where her father managed the cotton gin and where her mother was raised. She graduated in 1950 at age twenty with a degree in Chemistry from Texas Woman’s University. In 1953 she married Tom McColloch, a Richmond rice farmer and they had two children. Only wanting a temporary job as a Librarian, Willie Ann spent twenty-seven years in that position at Lamar CISD retiring in 1990. She served as a Cub Scout den leader, was a sponsor for the Needville pep squad and an excellent seamstress. Now she is involved with the Fort Bend County Historical Commission and received the 2010 Heritage Award for her contribution. 18 Pages |
