| Archive Description | Oral History - Helen DeRegil - Helen DeRigil’s family moved to Sugar Land around 1919. Her father was a farmer on Stiles lane. When he started working for Imperial Sugar they moved into a garage apartment of the Eldridge Home on Lakeview Street. She remembers riding a horse to Sugar Land School and addresses the racial division in the town. Later Helen and her mother both worked in the packing department at Imperial Sugar.
