Archive Description | Oral History - Helen DeRegil - Helen DeRigil’s family moved to Sugar Land around 1919. Her father was a farmer on Stiles lane. When he started working for Imperial Sugar they moved into a garage apartment of the Eldridge Home on Lakeview Street. She remembers riding a horse to Sugar Land School and addresses the racial division in the town. Later Helen and her mother both worked in the packing department at Imperial Sugar. She shares memories of the loss of her brother in World War II. 13 Pages |
